| Description: | Maximum Films & Management is currently looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, multi-tasking reader intern for Summer 2024 with excellent people and communication skills, nice phone manner, good research skills, and solid reading/writing/coverage abilities, to work 2 days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00am-6:30pm, may be a combination of in the office and remote. Exact start date flexible, but most likely June-August.
About the Company: Maximum Films & Management (Marcy Drogin), is a well-established literary consulting/scouting company which serves as the New York based literary/book scout for primarily LA and London-based studios, financiers and feature film/TV production companies. Our offices are located in Midtown West. Travel stipend (Metrocard) will be provided for in the office work days. |
| Length of Internship: | Four Months |
| Requirements: | •Read books and write coverage/synopses/comments, in MFM's format, on a weekly basis (typically 1 book per week/weekend). Be prepared to sit in on staff meetings and client calls with MFM staff and succinctly discuss/pitch a book you’ve read when cued by owner of company.
•Research authors/books as needed, and working with assistant and CE, help out with a daily Trades Round-up of news and deals, scour magazines and publications for potential articles, short stories, podcasts and ideas for adaptation and client-requested research or book lists. •Research articles for potential film/TV adaptation for MFM’s articles memo every Wednesday. |
