Description: | Pegasus Books is a small independent publisher that publishes a wide variety of titles in both fiction and nonfiction, including history, philosophy, memoir biography, literary fiction, mystery, and thrillers. We are looking for people who have strong copyediting and proofreading skills, a strong reading intelligence, are detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
An editorial intern with us would help with submission review, proofreading jacket copy and text proofs, trafficking manuscripts at various stages of the publishing process, tracking and conflating editorial changes, and making internal system updates. |
Length of Internship: | January to May/June (Start and end dates are flexible.) |
Requirements: | No previous publishing experience is required. You should have strong copyediting and proofreading skills, a strong reading intelligence, be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. |
Location: | Our office is in Manhattan but we are currently only in the office part-time and are remote the rest of the time, so the internship can be hybrid or remote. |
