Description: | The Nancy Yost Literary Agency represents a diverse and talented group of authors, comprised of national and international bestsellers.
We're looking for interns with an interest in commercial fiction, who are looking to expand their knowledge of the publishing industry through the perspective of a New York based literary agency. Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about: the query process, query evaluation, editorial work pre-submission, submission lists, submission letter writing, royalties, contracts, the current state of publishing and the differences between traditional and indie publishing, how-to on creating POD books, eBooks, and cover design if desired, discussions on industry trends, sub rights including both audio and foreign rights, and much more. |
Length of Internship: | Seasonal Internships based off the semester system. (Fall, Spring, Summer) |
Requirements: | Perspective Interns should have an interest in publishing with strong written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, we appreciate self-motivated candidates who are responsible, organized, and can work both independently and in a group setting.
Our internship is fully remote, however, if interns are local to the New York area, we are open to having interns come in once a semester to see the office, meet with the team, and take home some books. |

Application Due Date: | Rolling. We prefer to have applications in the month before the internship is set to start. However, we offer flexible start and end dates based on each interns specific schedule. (July/August for Fall Internships) (November/December for Spring internships) (April/May for Summer internships.) |
Payment: | Modest semester stipend. |
